Ventilation

biig_worm Sep 07, 2004 12:36 AM

I want to put mesh vents on the ceiling and on the front side under the sliding glass doors. My cage is 6 1/2 x 3 1/2 x 6 ft. How big or how many square feet should I make the vents? I will also have 2 10 in light fixtures built into the ceiling.

thank you

how much ventilation you need is going to depend on the average humidity. Here in Maryland where the average humdity is high, screen cages of at least two sides screen are best. If you live some somewhere drier, you should have vents that you can open and close to adjust the humidity. Also, in either case, having a small computer fan running can increase the air circulation and decrease the need for large vents.
