Juv Leo gecko

Had a big scare tonight when my juv leo geck jumped out of my boyfriend hand and ran under the bed. We spent atleast an hour ripping the room apart to find tha he was acutally under the bed all along, just in an old nes cart case *phew.*

Anyways he seems jumpy everytime I have tried to hold him (calm for a minute then speeds up.. calm... then he might jump) And it's starting to dawn on me that maybe I shouldn't be holding him at all... I hope I didn't stress it out too much.

So am I holding my gecko too early?

We have 24 leos and all of the little ones are very jumpy. I would wait until he is a little bigger to try to handle if you think you are stressing him out. We only handle our bigger ones. Once the juv. get to a certain point then we try to start handling them. Hope this helps.

My gecko hisses at me...Will he ever stop or is it just because he is a baby?

I have a new leo named Mr.Crowley. He lives in a 20 gallon long tank all by himself. Here is a picture of him if you go to the url below...

Most likely its because its a baby wait till it gets a lil bigger then try because it thinks your hand is a predator just wait a bit.
