I recently switched my leo to premade leopard gecko food and he's been eating it great for about a month now. The problem is, he seems to be loosing weight. Should I give him a mixture of the premade and wax worms? Any tips are greatly appreciated.

can you explain this? Feeding live gutloaded insects is the best way to do things.

please explain what premade food is, i'm a little worried but if he's eating and losing weight then it could be parasites and a fecal should be taken to a vet to be tested

Is it the freezedried Fluker Farms products? My geckos won't touch those for nothing. They have to be alive and squirming. Your not feeding it one of the day gecko or carnivore formulas are you?

This is the brand of food I'm feeding him. http://www.zoomed.com/html/gecko_foods.php It says leopard gecko, I know its not day gecko.

You should feed live food. The premade stuff is freezedried and doesnt offer the same nutrition as live feeders.

I'd say use the freezedried stuff to fish, and go get some live crickets/worms for your gecko.

I second that, switch to live foods like mealworms and crickets and your leo will become healthy

I know someone who lost their leo to Can-o-crickets because they dont' contain enough of anything really... they're freeze dried. I have some of that stuff too, it STINKS and my leos won't eat it.
