Couple of new pics of my 04 Mexican Black King. Love the way light reflects on him for a touch of iridescence. This guy is growing fast. Very aggressive eater.

Great looking snake. I noticed that they have become very popular in the last yr. Are they calmer than most kings, easier in other ways?

I only have experince with my Nigrita and my Cal King. Based on my experience (and I've heard others agree), the Nigrita is not as jumpy, is more docile, still as aggressive an eater and less likely to musk. I think they make great beginner snakes and are just gorgeous!!
I need to get some new pics of my guy

I'm not saying you're wrong but every time I see that I have to point out that out of all my kingsnakes (around 20), my single nigrita is the nastiest thrasher and musker I've ever seen. I really don't think it's possible to predict temperament based on subspecies.
