I've been bitten!!!! (sorry a little Long)

Hi All,

Okay I havent been bitten physically, but man have Candoia snakes bitten me in the intrest department. I have never been so intrigued by an animal. At the previous reptile and exotic animal this past weekend (Sept. 4 & 5) I held a Viper boa whose temperment for the few minutes i held her was docile, however I steered clear of an impulse buy, even though i wanted to buy that intersting little snake so bad. I figured I would consult with people who know of Candoia and steer me in the right direction. After doing some reading between classes (yeah I am a student and apartment life doesnt allow for me to keep many herps) I have decided I have got to get myself a CB solomon island tree boa. I have wanted to enter the world of arboreal constrictors for some time, and after recieving a nast bite from a friends chondro my mind changed, until i read how great captive bred Candoia carinata carinata can be. If anyone knows of any reputable breeders of these snakes please email me that info or reply to this.

2.1 Kenyan Sand Boas

at this link: www.kingsnake.com/candoia/

I don't know for sure that he breeds the S.I. tree boas, but he specializes in many of the Candoia so it's highly likely. Also, his website is pretty much THE site for information, though thanks to Randy on this forum there is also a Yahoo!Groups forum as well. I *think* he allows ads on his site, so there may be what you're looking for here: groups.yahoo.com/group/pacificislandboas/

I know you said captive bred, but just for information Glades Herp at this link: www.gherp.com/gherp/pages/boidstock.htm has a pair of S.I. tree boas for sale as well as two Viper boas. Might be worth looking into at any rate.

Good luck finding them & happy hunting!
