WTF is mines normal?

speterturtle Sep 07, 2004 03:15 PM

Ok every now and then i catch my WTF doing this weird thing. Its like he gets up somewhat ready to get some action in the back but then he sucks in air and like yawns then closes his eyes completely . He does it like 5-10 times normally. why is it ? is it his way of yawning?

Oh also he tends to sheed his skin after he does it. or give off some slime

yea mine do the same thing. they like swerve their neck up like they r wolves howling and close their eyes liek they r swallowing soemthign big. Im pretty sure it is shedding. Frogs dotn have n e part of their body(such as finger nails opr claws) that can grab somethign thin and delicate(such as the skin here) so they move their body in wierd angles to like shake or rub it off. imagine urself being zipped up in a tight suit and u had no arms(pretend u did). U wud shake and squirm to rub or try to peel it off. Thats wat i think, mayb some more experienced owners can tell u more. Heh hope ur frog is doin something normal and not a sign showing a bad thing.

yes the frog is shedding, and if you look closely at it you can see the skin sliding off it's body, and there's usually a gathering of it at the corner of its mouth. my frogs also use their back legs to push the skin forward and front legs to push it into its mouth.
