i did lost of homework and i'm lookin forward to gettin a pair. i pretty much know what morphs i want to get, i really like the Chocolate/orange tiger for a male and maybe a reddish harlequin or creamsicle female. are these morphs pretty common for shows? and how much do you think they would cost? thanks..

if you want a creamsicle like shown here:

http://www.pangeareptile.com/pics.htm

be prepared to spend 400-500 bucks, i wrote Pangea about them and that is the price they quoted me, and apparently they are pretty uncommon, as well as there green fires.

at a show you will probably find a wide variety of harlequins and tigers of a reasonable price, as you get into colors such as red, yellow, orange, expect probably $100 each.

just keep in mind that the better the pattern and the better the color the more money you are going to have to pay, and when you get into pinstripes, or partial pinstripes, or really nice flamed harlequins, the price will continue to go up as well.

dont make a quick choice, browse around, and always buy on the last day of the show unless you are worried yours may sell, vendors are generally more easy going about price on the last day of the show because naturally they want to sell off as much as possible.

oh, make sure to ask the vendor a lot of questions, make sure he/she knows what they are doing, act like a new hobbyists with little knowledge about cresteds and see how willing they are too inform you, a good vendor will be willing to spend the time to help you out in order to help make the sale.

how about for the unsexed juveniles?? would they be like half the price as the sexed ones...cause i wasn't lookin for an adult really, i wanted to start out with a single juvie and see what sex it turns out to be then get the other sex whenever i see something that interests me. i'm tryin not to rush into it, take my time and see what i like and see where i can get some good deals. thanks.....

well, i went to the last ny herp show and can say this much. i bought my crested from sticky lizards. they didnt have any crazy morphs, but they have a bunch of nice yellows and dalmations, which i picked up. anyway, i saw a few hatchlings at, i forget the breeder, which i was impressed with. a few fires and harlequins at a reasonable price...$65. i was still unsure about buying a hatchling, which is why i passed. then i found a bunch of juvenile fires for sale for $65. idk, for some reason, i didnt like the breeder and passed on them as well. get me on aim if you want. we can meet up at the show. my screen name is YFZ450Racer 63.

the price pangea quoted me was for unsexed babies.

the crazier the morph, the more you will pay. most vendors will probably be selling juveniles, and most likely unsexed juveniles unless they are trying to sell of some of their older breeder pairs or single adults.

chances are if you buy unsexed though, you will end up with females, cresteds have a much higher female percentage from what I have read.
