AnnoyingGuy12 Sep 07, 2004 04:51 PM

ok. im not an unexperienced herp owner. i have frogs and my cousin has soem fish as pets... and at least one dies a week... yet they replace em cause they r well rich. After i got my pacman frog i went on kingsnake to post a message bout my new frog. my cuz saw a beardie while i was on kingsnake and now he wants one. i told him to start out wit somehting easylike i did wit frogs. well.... he ahsnt listened and said he did research and is ready. he got a 60 gallon and is gonna put a heat lamp give it greens as food and some calci sand or soemthign liek tat as substrae. i wanted to stop him form killing an innocent lizard so i told him to get something easy again... guess wat he bought the supplies. so now i guess he is gonna get a beardie. They arent good for begginners r they and from wat i have told is the stuff he is doin good enuff? i just dont want the beardie to die.
Thx,
Dan

Beardies arent difficult. As long as you fill there requirements. calci sand bad. 60gallon tank probably way to big if he is getting a baby. buying one from a department style petstore also not a great idea. calci not so hot. going to need a spot light a heat lamp and a uv/uvb bulb. hide spots also. and something other then just greens. CRICKETS they love them. wax worms. love them also. iceberg lettuc BADDDD. basking spot between 110-120. cool spot around 85 degrees. mist about every other day. dust crickets with calcium dust. Ok thats an idiots guide to keeping them. or you can just look down a little and just read some of the post. one of them has alink to a great site that deals with there diet requirements.
