I have an important question about baby's

duckofdomination Sep 07, 2004 07:04 PM

I have heard that if you introduce two males into the same tank they will fight untill one dies. I already have one baby and im not sure if it is a male or a female because I dont think he is old enough to be able to tell. I have only had this baby for two days. if i got a new baby leo and it just happend to be that they were both males would they fight? I was wondering because there are some nice looking patternless at PetCo right now and im thinking of getting one, Sorry about the long post!

I have a new leo named Mr.Crowley. He lives in a 20 gallon long tank all by himself. Here is a picture of him if you go to the url below...

Yes, even if you housed them together since they were babies, they are still most likely to fight once they mature. i would either wait until you can find out the sex of the gecko you have now it, and if its female get another known female. or if its a boy and you want another one, you can be prepared to get a seperate tank for the second gecko. If you do get two babies now though, just make sure to keep your eye on them so you can seperate them as quick as you can if you find out they both turn out to be male.

If your 20 gallon tank is a high tank as opposed to a long tank there is a tank divider you could use. They sell them at petco and most aquarium stores. This way you could seperate the young leos.
