Florida Folks!!!

barker109 Sep 07, 2004 09:45 PM

Anybody hear from some of the folks down in Florida. I just know a couple and haven't seen their post. No electricity. Just wondering if anybody else has other ways of contacting them. Hope all is well.
Take care,
Karen

We just have a lot of debris to clean up. We only lost power for about an hour. The kids still don't have school because there are a lot of people still without. Scary to think, we only got the outer bands & there are a LOT of trees in peoples houses!

Thanks for checking in on us Karen.

I am new here. I am glad you and your herps are ok. I wouldn't want something horrible like that to happen to a fellow herper. I am glad you guys are ok. Good luck.,

lost their home and most of their furniture and belongings. Ronnie of Cricketfood.com took a petty bad beating, lost his roof shingles in the first storm, then the second one collapsed the ceilings and roof over most of his house...with them in it!

His family is okay, and the animals, but he lost all the eggs in the incubators which also included several thousands in albino python eggs.

The fire marshall condemned the house, since the water is in all the walls and electrical but there is really no where for them to go yet so they are living in the master bedroom which is the only room with walls and a roof still. Trying to get the ceiling and other things out of the house before mold sets in too bad.... but I think the house will be torn down anyway... Shame as it was a nice home in a nice area.

Our feeder supplier just stopped by too and he's in Ft Myers and lost one of his greenhouses, along with thousands of rodents... so he will be out of that business for a bit.

Ronnie has a bit of the story on his website, he's staying in business, just will be backed up getting orders out for a bit
