hatchling rack system

geckoguy_ottawa Jun 25, 2003 07:59 PM

Just wondering if anyone knows of a website or someone who has plans on how to build a rack system for leopard gecko hatchlings. Also, where would you buy heat tape. And is it easy to put together.
Thanks

I built my own and don't have much carpentry experience at all. Here's a Link to my Instructions. You can modify my plans for smaller tubs (maybe 6qt for hatchlings.

You can get heat tape from the Bean Farm, Big Apple Herp, Maryland Reptile Farm, or others. Just make sure you use all the same type of the size you choose. I had two pieces of 11" running vertically in one of my racks that different colored bus bars (silver and copper) and they heated at 2 different temps. If you get it all from the same supplier, you shouldn't have to worry. You'll probably have trouble getting it in Canada, because I think it's illegal, so your best bet would probably be The Bean Farm; they may be able to ship up there. Good luck.
