Lighting/Feeding Schedule??

caredeocr Sep 08, 2004 02:38 PM

I am getting my tank setup now and hopefully get my dragon this weekend. I work shift work, 12 hours a day. It is either 9:30AM-9:30PM, or vice versa.

What would you suggest for a good lighting and feeding schedule? I have two timers, one for my UV light and one for my basking light.

Thanks
Chris

Both UVB and basking light should go on and off at the same time. For regular summertime hours, it's 14 day/10 night. You can shorten the daylight hours in the winter if you want to brumate your dragon or if it decides to do that itself, but there is no requirement. If you do brumate, then gradulately reduce daylight hours till you have 10 day/14 night and decrease temperatures.

For nighttime heat, there isn't any need at add additional heat unless your house temperature drops below 65F at night.
