A lot of breeders say you don't have to do anything to get them to breed. However, you may be more succesful hibernating them. I start cooling down my naja oct, to about 50-55 degrees F, and then warm them up in Jan, feed them a meal or two, give them a few days to digest the meal, and then introduce them together for a few days each week.
If they don't do anything right away, just wait until the female sheds, and then re-introduce them together again. Sometimes, the female's first shed releases an odor that tells the male that it's time to breed!
Last year, mine bred for over a month, but I believe that she was fertilized within the first or second mating, because of when the eggs showed up. Her egges showed up 56 days after her first breeding, which is atleast 4 days early. She never did a prelay shed either. I'm telling you this to save you from possible stress and heartache. Put an egg-laying box in the enclosure atleast 8-10 days before the snake is supposed to lay them (60 or more days). She will probably spread around a lot of the contents into her cage, but it's better to have a mess to clean up than to lose the eggs.
