Bufo valliceps

Rubystars1000 Jun 25, 2003 08:30 PM

I'm not going to take "Ted" out of the wild, but I still want a Gulf Coast Toad (Bufo valliceps) care sheet, because I might buy or legally collect one later.

I can't seem to find any care sheets on them at all.

i would say on google search for them. I kept two of them and they are so far my favorite toads. They need to be kept at a slight warmer temps then americans. Warm side beings mid 80s and at night mid to low 70's regular bed a beast substrate and feed them every two or three days. These little guys will eat and eat until they are fat like people at an all you can eat buffy. You really have to watch on how much you feed them. Also if you get them they LOVE to climb alot so put branches and wood huts inside. Humidity can be around 40-50%. I do not really worry about humidity to much because if its to dry they will soak in the water dish which should be changed every day or every other day.

Hope this helps and let me know what ya find out on google.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I couldn't find one on google that's why I searched here.

I have played with these toads all my life growing up so I've learned to love that particular species.

What size tank would you say, and long or tall?

for them I would defently say atleast a 20 long. You oculd keep them in a 10 BUtg they would probably not be happy in it. They are very active toads. More active then my American that I had.
