Need Suggestions: how to make cage more likable for snake.

colina Sep 08, 2004 07:36 PM

my black pine who is between 3 and 4 years old as far as I can tell hates her cage. Always wants out trying all day long desperatly to escape the cage most of the time when i do let her out its just to curl up in a pillow or someplace to sleep. She has small dark hiding place to sleep in her cage which i have changed around from time to time. Why does she just not like being in there? and What can I do to make her want to spend time in it, other than getting a bigger cage.

Your snake will try to escape no matter what the cage it is in. If you were locked in a room, no matter how elegant, you would want out of it eventually. As long as you have 2 or 3 hide boxes, the correct humidity and temperature, and feed the snake once a week or so, she will be happy.

Well you could make the cage more likable by possibly adding a
9in T x 12in W x 12in L of loose pesticide free soil can offer more mental stimulation and for something for the snake to pass the time.
