mating?

mn9796 Sep 08, 2004 10:17 PM

I have a few questions about the normal mating habits of FBTs. I think that I have 2 males. I think I read that only the males make noise, is that right? I also read that if one male is trying to mate another that the one on the bottom will have a call to let the other know that he has made a mistake. Well the thing is...is it normal for two males to keep trying to mate each other? I have seen this behavior quite often, but it sounds as though they are both making noises. I have seen each of them hanging on to the other. If they are both male, wouldn't they give up eventually? One of them is definately on top more, but like I said-I have seen it both ways. Should I add more toads so they can try to find a female?

I have the exact same thing.. two males who constantly mount each other. It's harmless, and actually kind of amuzing to watch them fight over who's on top.. it's like frog wrestling. LOL. I really wish i could find a couple females, but theres no way to tell them apart when you go to buy them, and I dont want to end up with a bunch more males and possibly still no females. If you have the space to do that, have at it, and I wish you the best of luck. And hey.. if you end up with some extra females, I'll take em off your hands =D
