Need excitement please

red_eyed_magalie Jun 25, 2003 08:58 PM

Hey everybody!!

I have a beautiful 6" female RT that is tomorrow. According to calculations...stuff I have read...105 days after post ovulation shed..(MAR13) I think that's correct? And a few days ago I watched the news and they said it was going to rain Thursday...I was so happy I started to laugh. Then of course (being FL) I watched the news again last night and now there is no forecast of rain tomorrow. I know, I know...but I am so excited and wanted to have someone else excited with me...my dad won't get excited until he sees the babies (he said) ... whatever! I feel like I have waited FOREVER! What can I do to get ready...do you think she will have them at night? vs day...I am working and I don't wanna miss it..I have the camcorder set up and ready to record! My first set of babies and I am just SO thrilled..almost wanna call in sick for the next two days...HELP - need "happy thoughts" sent my way...what percautions should I take and how many babies do you think she will have...OMG I have so many questions!

Hi! Typically (from what I have read) they have the babies
at night or early early morning... it seems most people 'wake-up'
to babies that were born over the night. 105 days from the POS
is the average, it can be anywhere from 96-112 days I beleive.
Make sure you have some baby set-ups ready to go, small
rubbermaids or a bunch of 10 gallon tanks with heat and
water bowls and substrate to house the babies. I will start to
set up my baby-area this weekend, my first boa is due at the
end of next month. Isn't it fun? The waiting is the hardest
part! My b/f is the same way, he won't get excited or believe
me until she actually gives birth... last night I was trying
to get him up to the snake room to check out my gravid girl
and all he could say is "Whooo, what is there a new bulge or
wrinkle on her??" haha non-reptile people never understand
the excitment!
here's some good thoughts being sent your way!
Good luck!

I know what you guys and gals mean here. Everytime i have a new litter or a new clutch of eggs i just want to sit there and watch them. When it gets close to birth time i find myself looking in the cage every five minutes and when they (she's) move i find my heart in my throat from excitement. Now the bummer part on my half is i've haven't seen any of my births yet lol , either i'm asleep at work or one time i was going nuts so i took the kids to the movies and when i came back whamo i had babies , I was heart broken. Well its fun so just hang in there and try to keep your sanity lol.
