Great Story goes with these pictures. Local family from NY went camping this summer in NY near PA. They were building a campfire when their 4 year old son spotted something on one of the logs. They looked to see what he was fussing with and they were eggs. They didn't know what the eggs were, but were curious so they brought them home. Had the son not noticed the eggs, they would have been burned in the camp fire. Three weeks ago, the family was greeted by 5 tiny baby snakes! Turns out they are Smooth Green Snakes. As Secretary of our local Herp Club, they had sent me an email with the story and a description of the snakes trying to find out what they were. Along with identifying them, I hinted that I sure would like to have some if they didn't want to keep all of them. I met them at a local pet store last night and he gave me two of the five babies. They are so cute. They are insectivores so eat only insects. Crickets so far, although when they get bigger I'll see if they want other types of insects to supplement. Here are some pics of the very lucky to be alive babies...

Another pic...

To get a feel for their size, hold up your hand and look at your pinkie. Picture a snake that can wrap just around two times...

I can't get over how tiny they are. Not agressive or defensive at all, very calm about being handled

Hope you liked the pics!
