Can Ivan please go somewhere else? We've had our fill here in Florida this year. How did everyone else do with Frances? It's Thursday and I haven't had power since Sunday (I'm typing this at work). Half the roof to my shed is in the yard, but otherwise no major problems. Luckily, I can stay with my dad, who only lost power for a couple of hours. Frustrating without power, but really no big deal, is a lot worse for many people. Other Florida herpers chime in and let us know how you're doing.

You beat me to it! We got off lucky on Frances (minor damage to one gate). My brother took a bad hit from Charley (he was on Cape Coral which was a near bullseye.

Not looking forward to Ivan the Unbearable......

Just now (Thu.) got power service restored. It has been out since Sun. As for damage, had a tree limb go through my windshield and some minor water damage, but not as bad as others.
Praying all here will be o.k. and that Ivan misses the U.S.!

I was very lucky with power, phones, cable TV,and internet all fine during the storm and only screen porch and landscape damage. Then Monday I lost the cable, rumor has it some FPL idiot cut the TV cable for 10K people clearing a tree well after the storm, has not come back yet.

Trying to figure how to go out to see FSU-Miami tomorrow which ends after the curfew!

Luckily, I live up in Tallahassee and neither Charley or Frances affected us much. But I really feel for everyone else south of here. Can't even imagine what it's going to be like if Ivan does hit Florida. Who knows, right now we really don't know where Ivan will make landfall and it very well could be just south of Tallahassee. No matter what, there is only so much this state can take. And it's getting more than a handfull this year.

I had to laugh when it was over in that our Kings & our iguana didn't seem to mind at all....no power, no problem.

WE however are OVER hurricanes!

I agree with svreptiles...not wanting to wish bad luck on others but, somebody else can have Ivan!

Geesh!

PS...Keith, how are the baby Hernando kings doing?

We have been very fortunate here in Jacksonville. Not much I was told happened here with Charley (we though were in Daytona for that one). Frances although at only a tropical storm wave of bands did its number to many here. Many went without power for days. Actually some are still without power. Quite a few downed trees around town. We luckily only lost one tree (35' spruce) on a corner of our property away from any structures to cause damage.

Ivan appears to be taking a path very similar to the path Charley took. Hopefully wherever this one makes landfall it does so at a much reduced strength then it has thus far attained. Not only is it a question of how much can Florida take of this BUT how much will insurance companies take before the State has to take over.

Best Regards, Rich Hebron
