Just found my baby!! PLEASE HELP, BARELY MOVING!!!

anj109 Sep 09, 2004 01:14 PM

hey guys, well i was vacuming the house and low and behold I found my baby leucistic texas rat snake inbetween some boxes. He wasn't moving at all. I picked him up and he could barely move but could tell he was still alive. I put him in a shoebox rubbermaid with a very shallow waterdish and put him in the water to hopefully soak up some much needed water. I dont know if he is drinking cant really see his mouth moving. Any ideas, tips, or help on keeping this little guy alive. I'm scared he wont make it. When should I try to feed him. Obviously not now cause he is hardly even showing signs of life.

Thanks a lot guys.

Alex

You might try to force feed it some water if it is that sick. Soaking will not get the water into the snake.

Well the little guy didnt make it unfortunatly. Was really excited when I found him cause I gave up all hope. Too bad he was too far sick to even be helped. He died about 2 hrs after finding him. Hope you guys have better luck with finding your lost herps. Rest In Peace little guy.

Sorry to hear that. Snakes are just too good at hiding for their own goods.
