duztid Sep 09, 2004 03:43 PM

how old should a baby corn snake be before you can get it probed/sexed? mine are about 10 inches long.

i have a snow corn and another corn, not sure of what type it is though. does anyone know?

Corns can generally be popped or probed after they've had their first shed. Sometimes hatchlings are too small to probe right off the bat, and only after they've grown a bit can the smallest probe work safely.

DO NOT attempt to pop or probe if you are not experienced with it, as you can harm the snake permanently by doing it wrong. (But then most of you all knew this...)

The corn in the picture is an amelanistic (red albino). It's definitely big enough to be probed.
