Well.. so far my rats seem to like the stuff... I still mix it with dog food despite the fact the Blue Seal Vintage Gold feed has a 16% protein ratio....I don't think plant protein is enough... but they are eating the stuff quite well...even my gerbils like it.. *L* I paid $11.01 for 50 lbs. I haven't seen a drop in production at all either so I think I'll be sticking with this...The extruded feed is like a very large pellet...Looks almost like dog food too...and actually has a rather pleasant aroma to it. But I've been able to cut sunflower seeds and corn out of my mix with the addition of this with no appreciable change in health of the rats...They still get a couple handfulls of sunflower seeds or corn as a treat once or twice a week....but its no longer a major part of their basic feed. Altogether, for a 3 month supply of rat food I pay less than $20 *L* 100 lbs of food lasts my 1.9 colony 3 months and thats with 30-40 weanlings per month.
