Eye Problem: Any ideas what this may me?

kevie Sep 09, 2004 06:57 PM

I've had this python for about a year. He was young when I got him.

I noticed this several weeks ago but after his last uncompleted shed I realized it could be a larger problem. When his eyes glazed over I misted the cage several times a day, humidity was usually over 75%, so I don't think that was the cause of his incomplete shed. (I soaked him since and helped him remove unshed pieces.)

He doesn't seem to be blind in either eye. He readily reacts to objects (my finger) moving on either side of his head. How, does this ball have a more serious problem, or is it just an unshed eye piece. (If it is, what do you think the best way to remove it would be? Soak and try to remove with something?)

By the way, is there a way to post several pictures from my photo gallery in a single message?

When my ball didn't shed completely on his eye socket, I just let a few drops of water from my finger hit his eye 2-3 times a day. Then, on the 3rd or 4th day, the vet said to wet a q-tip and gently roll it over the eye socket. I did that for about 2 days until it came off on the 3rd day, while I was using the q-tip.

Hopefully that's the only issue!
Good Luck!
