An argus may reach 5 feet or so, V.g. flavirufus and V.g. gouldii are smaller/less diminuitive in size and stature than any Argus, so when you cross them, you might get a larger flavirufus appearing animal; a smaller argus appearing animal; a normal appearing argus; or maybe a normal sized flavirufus = the possibilities are many....and only the genetics expressed will you know for sure...it does show you how close these types are, and personally I feel that there are only V. gouldii, V. panoptes, and V. rosenbergi in this complex, and should relegate V. flavirufus and V. rubidus to junior synonym status under V. gouldii...and there a several Australian herpetologists who feel this way too...
