i have 2 mangroves in a 55 gallon, it's getting cold out and they are cold would it be better if i put them in a 40 gallon to where it's easier to heat them( they are only a little over a foot long, 5-6 in. SVL)

If so, what will you do in the winter?

What about simply increasing the wattage on your bulb or adding a ceramic heat emmiter that you can run 24 hours if you don't want the light going for that long.

Place both of them on one end of the cage to ensure they have temp gradients.....

they arent outside, but for some reason our heating in the house dont work, my parents dont want my to add more to the eletric bill( i have like 20 herps) and they want to know if it will help

what are current tempts, High low and basking? Is the lid of the enclosure a screen or is it a solid lid? Sreen will let out to much heat. Also with all the herps you have, can you not keep them near eachother or stack them inorder to share and conserve heat? If you do this, set up something so that they cannot see eachother and add additional stress...

Just a few thoughts, a smaller cage will work, but that is only a very short term fix as they will need a larger enclosure than the 55 gallon soon enough.

And who cares about the electric bill anyway with two mangroves, had to set you back atleast $400 anyway just for the pair....
