whats a calabar python?

i saw one at the store today and really liked the look of it..anyone have some info on how big they get? what tempermant they generally have? temperatures? i am considering getting this..they have a burmese python for the same price (99.99) haha i wish i had the space for that they also have this gorgeous columbian boa het for albino ugh i need a bigger house hahaha anyway if anyone has any info i appreciate it

Calabaria reinhardtii is a small african burrowing snake much like the sand boa. Many people argue that it is actually a boa rather than a python. They grow to adult size of less than 3 feet and are still imported mainly. If you get it make sure you get a fecal done and deworm it if necessary so you don't spread any desease throughout your collection. I've never owned one, but I hear they are very mellow and are not biters so I guess they would make a good pet, just don't count on it being a good display animal if you provide a substrate that will allow burrowing.
