Lethargic Jackson

stevearowell Sep 10, 2004 08:17 AM

I have a female Jackson that has become lethargic. I have her in an open cage. She gets flosescent UV for 8 hours, basking light for two, and misted for :45 every three hours. She will eat when food is offered, but will not get it for herself. I feed her a reptile calc dusted crickett once a week. She gave birth about four months ago.

Im no expert... But i think ya would leave the basking light on all day? I leave both my lights on for a set time period. Theyre on timers. And you just give her one dusted cricket per week? Maybe give her more than that .. she just had babies which had to have taken vitamins and calcium from her? Hopefully someone else will reply whos had a cham that gave birth etc. Try not to hand feed her too much .. she may get lazy tongue lol ... Mines kinda gotten lazy tongue so now he has to chase his food.

The basking light is on for about 4 hours. They are in bay window and get plenty of natural light to bask in as well. The thought about minerals is good. I will give her more dusted crickets. I just don't want to over dose them on minerals and calc.
