slightly less mutts?

I have been wondering if I was the only one that felt this way about the DxJ crosses.

Well, don't get me wrong, I own a trio of 75% diamonds, I'm neither supportive or deterrant of the cross. The carpet localities are completly interbred in this country, it's a little late to start playing the "pure is better" game since only about 15-20% of the animals being sold here are pure.

That's also assuming that the wild specimins we obtained these guys from were pure, as natural interbreeding does occur between some localities.

But any resulting offspring of a cross are what they are, mutts.

Well, the fact that you keep them and still are willing to accept the fact that they are mutts is great in my opinion. I have no problem with other keepers having them or breeding them. I just fear the small percentage that look very Diamondish will be sold as pure Diamonds or the overly Jungly ones may be sold as pure Jungles. While I will agree that the DxJ's are a strikingly beautiful cross, they are still known to be a cross. My collection is painfully small in an attempt to possess the purest carpets available today. While I realize that most interbreed in the wild, doing so knowingly in captivity for our own visual pleasure is just not for me.

Well, I'm glad you agree with me, typically my views draw harsh criticism from the economically driven members of the herp industry
