Cactus pads are available from Joe Heinden at:
http://www.carolinapetsupply.com/

Mazuri is roughly 18% fiber. Above 25% is the minimum torts shoudl be getting.

I'm still looking for a good reference on what is a good percentage of fiber that is required for a tortoise (not that I would follow it). I'd like to know how they (whoever 'they' are) came up with the #.

Mazuri
Fiber (Crude), .8
Neutral Detergent Fiber, ).3
Acid Detergent Fiber, .4

I guess there are different form of fiber... (have fun)

This is why a varied diet works. This is also why I use and push Mazuri tortoise diet. I have a good idea of the objective research that has gone into it and is still going into it. Considering the results, I trust it more than some of the 'natural' diets/supplements that are advertised.

If you really want to learn proper nutrition... you're definately going to have to give up your day job.
