Recently some bugs invaded my fruit fly cultures. I know they're not mites. They're about the size of a melanogaster, but they're black, and a little longer and thinner. Quite a few of them look like someone took two and glued them together by their rear ends (must be their mating posision.) Anyone had problems with these? I'm real careful about keeping the cultures sealed, but they seem to be able to squeeze through the cotton stoppers. They're kind of a pain just because they take over my cultures. However, I wouldn't mind keeping a culture of them, as long as they would stay in their container. My azureus darts seem to like them and it's an easy way to vary their diets.
