Well I never had a snapping turtle just a painted and 3 RES. Anyhow my dad brought me home a little baby snapper because the hawlks and eagles were eating them . So anycare sheets I need? I was thinking about getting him a little bigger and then letting him go? Any info on diet would be apprieciated. Thanks

My yearling eats mostly bait-store minnows. I throw one against the side of his tank to stun it a little. When he first hatched, he would not eat for a long time. I'm talkin' months!
I put him down in the basement in about an inch of water over the winter to see if he would respond to a hibernation-type situation. When he came out of it, he started eating and has been a pig ever since. Try minnows, worms, turtle pellets...see what he will eat. Good luck. Duffy
