Not even visually. My roomate just got his first panther yesterday night, and we stuck him in the cage. All seemed well last night and first thing this morning, but Josh (roomate) said about 20 minutes later the cham was all puffed up and very dark. He said was very scared for the cham and couldn't figure out what was wrong, until Josh saw the chameleon looking over at the Iguana, (in his own cage, several feet away) who was all poofed up on the top shelf. Josh immediately moved the cham over to the cage in his room (our cages are wall mounted) and he calmed down, but closed his eyes and was sleeping. He is better and in calm colors now, and has eaten several silkworms, but we will have to put a cloth up so he can't see the Iguana from the living room cage. I guess the moral of this story is that visible big lizards are a no-no for new chameleons.
