Are these spots normal?

duckofdomination Sep 10, 2004 04:47 PM

Well I noticed some spots on my leo after I took a close up picture of him...are the spots shown in the picture below normal? (if the pic doesnt show the link is http://www.sighost.us/members/allhailozz/mr_crowley_spots.jpg)

I have a new leo named Mr.Crowley. He lives in a 20 gallon long tank all by himself. Here is a picture of him if you go to the url below...

It almost looks like his head is very dry or like he was rubbing to much it against something. Is it hard like a scab? I don't have much experience but none of my leos have ever had that. Does your leo use it's humid hide enough? If not maybe try mist every so often to see if it comes off during his next shed. I did see a wild anole with what looked like a scraped up head that looked just like that, well maybe a bit more noticeable.

On the back of the legs are you pointing to the darker black spots? Looks like normal coloration to me.

Good luck with your new leo

Acutally after getting a better look I think it might just be his coloration, so long as it's not dry or scabby.

They change so much, in a couple of months you will bearly recognize him.

here is the same one at 3 or 4 months. She is 5 months now and so different from even this picture. She has no lavender and only five black spots on her body.
