Question about Decompossed Granite

jcontre916 Sep 10, 2004 10:26 PM

I have a juvenile argus monitor about 20 inches in length in a 75 gallon tank at the moment. I am currently using decompossed granite as her substrate at the moment. She really seems to enjoy it as she can dig in it all day and it holds the burrows she builds extremly well. I was wondering tho, ive heard from a couple of people that DG is not good due to the fact the particles of DG are extremly tough and can cause impaction problems in her digestive system if she eats to much. Basically im just looking for advice on whether or not to continue to use this as her primary substrate. Id figure that it shouldnt be that much of a problem as im sure ud find DG in their native lands.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks Joe
