i used to think about how cool it would be to own a horned lizard, but i read somewhere they have special diets and are hard to keep. how hard are they to care for and are they expensive to care for because of their diet?

HLs require many small prey items with ants making up a large part of their diet. They are not difficult if you understand their requirements, go to www.phrynosoma.com and read the home page as well as the Basic Care page. If you raise your own feeders and collect your own ants you can maintain HLs with very little cost. If you purchase them it can get exspensive.
