Crumbly x Ginter

I have an 03' male Crumbly line red that I purchased from Ron at the crawl space... I also have a female red kingsville bull that I purchased from John Cherry, she is an 04' hatchling... They are both beautiful snakes that I would like to breed together in about two or three years... Can anybody tell me why this hasn't been done yet? Is this type of cross generally frowned on in this forum, or would it be acceptable... I think it would be a beautiful cross... Any feedback would be appreciated...

my guess is that the race is on in several corners of herpetoculture. who will be first to offer that killer line of "fire engine bulls" or "big reds" or "pyro-pits" or "crimson sayi"?

Calling John Cherry!!!

I got a pair of red Bulls from John a couple months ago and they were out of Lubbock stock. Are there indeed three lines? I have individuals from all three (if there are three) and they all look great! And they all have typical Bull personalities!!!
THe typical Crumbly and typical Ginter are awesome as adults. And be aware that not all of Ginters line turn red!!!! I got a pair from him in 2000-the male looks as good as any Red, the female looked typical of Bulls from South Texas. On another note-- I lived in Pearsall for seven years and found several adults and all were quite red. Given the red, sandy soil of the area I thought this was to be expected. For those wondering if I kept what I found-sorry , I won't keep anything wild caught! I just looked, messed with them a bit and let them go their way as I went mine!

As for crossing them, there may be people out there doing it, I dont know. But speaking for Scott Crumbly he is doing more of a line breeding thing, trying to pick the nicest of the line and put them back into each other. We're also working on putting them into other things, such as albinos.
