Astronomy Picture of the Day
These two hatched from a four egg clutch. There was nothing special that occurred during the incubation (temperature spikes/drops or major changes in humidity) that could have caused this. So yes, I would say that this is definitely heriditary. They are the offspring of a pastel jungle male bred to what by all appearances is a normal female. What is unclear is whether this is srticly a the homozygous expression of a recessive gene, or possible a recessive gene working in conjunction with the pastel gene to create a new expression. There were no pastels produced in the clutch. It is also possible that this may mark the creation of a new co-dominate form.

That´s the best iridescence I´ve ever seen in balls. Hope that this is genetic.
