can russian and red foote tortoise get along . i know locals have them together and seem fine i just would like to double check

I don't think it's the greatest idea in the world. That's probably one of the worse case scenarios you can put together.

Both RF and Russians are notorious for carrying various parasites. Consider that and that they come from 2 totally different regions and you have a pretty volatile mix.

If you've got 2 CB animals the risk is reduced but still exists because most CB RFs are farmed or carry parasites regardless.

Many petshops do this which is why you should get a vet checkup for anything you buy at a petshop.

Over time, depending on you thinking and experience, you might be able to pull it off but if you are new to keeping tortoises, you are opening yourself up to a load of heartache with that mix.

basically yes although greek tortoises can sometimes be put in with russans as they more or less have the same care requirments but general rulwe of thumb is to not mix species

This is a general line of thought with any tortoise. With experinece you can bend the rules a little but it is better not to try and mix species if you are not familiar with the species.

There are always 'depends' if you and see what I mean.
