Pits at NARBC in Anaheim

metalpest Sep 12, 2004 12:15 PM

This show was huge, and I was actually shocked at the GOOD number of pits. Ive been to maybe 4 or 5 shows and I dont see many pits when I go. A few months ago, I purchased a pair of northern pines because it seemed that nobody out here had them. I guess I didnt wait long enough, there were three tables with northern babies for 50 and 60 dollars, and two more tables with albinos. One was the typical bland albino for 75, the other had the real nice blotch coloration and lavenders in it for 125. There were also a lot of bulls and some albino gophers, some baja gophers, and some mex pines. I was loving all of the pits, it was a nice change from all of the corns, balls, beardies, and leopard geckos you see at every table. Finally, the pits are recognized in southern California!

What was your biz name? I didnt realize anyone who posted here was vending at the show.

Sorry for the second reply, but have you been to any other shows? As I said before, I havent seen many pits at the other shows Ive been to. I was particularly interested in northern pines, which I ended up ordering and having shipped because they didnt seem to be dealt with on the west coast very much. When I got my business rolling, I was hoping to be one of the few with northerns on their table, but now I see that many others had them too. This may have been due to all of the east coast dealers at the show, but I saw some on tables that didnt have them at other shows.

Ah yes high sierra, you guys have some great snakes! I dont distinctly remember what was available at your table, but I do remember seeing the booth and thinking "here is a good table" so I spent some good time there. Did you have the halloween pueblans? The only place Ive ever seen those is on your website, and I recall seeing them for the first time in person at the show. There was just so much good stuff there I cant remember what was where. I wish that I kept track of who had the albino northern pines so I can get them one day.

They (halloweens) didnt look as good as your pics anyway. I didnt want to say that just in case they were yours. As for the albino northerns, two tables had them. One was up front, the other tucke away in the back corner. The one in the back corner was the one I was interested in. The first table had bland coloration, and only wanted 75. The other table had specimens that I said looked like Cherry's albino northerns, but the vendor had never heard of Cherry. He wanted 125 for his, but they were that much better and worth the price difference in my opinion. I can look it up on the map later to see who it was. Once I figure out if I can take snakes with me where I move, Ill be purchasing more. Right now everyone is saying I cant bring snakes, so I may just have to sell what I have. Thats why I had to hold out at the show. But I want those pueblans (multiple kinds) and the black rat morphs really bad. Also, several of the cali king morphs (renegade had another great booth) and finally some more pits!

There were more pit there than most shows out here on the west coast I thought. if I could have gotten it past the whife I would have come home with a deppei from renegade. (Like i need another snake ) Curious though, there was a table in room 2 that had some nice light coloered bulls for about $45. Did anybody else see them? They sure were pretty but i didn't ask about local and they weren't marked.
