Real sick pics

n1kki Feb 07, 2003 01:55 PM

Was browsing and came across these pics showing the inhumane act of dismembering a live turtle for sale. Really not for the faint-hearted - made me wanna cry.

I really don't know how some people can do things like that.

This must be my don't like it day, that is really a sick thing to see for us turtle lovers , that pic has been on for awhile now, I always avoid that site... it upsets me and there's not much I can do about it although I try... sign all the petitions for stopping this kind of thing. But to those people turtles are just food like cows are to us.

I hate those pictures, and I guess the people that would treat an animal that way also. That poor turtle was obviously alive while they were hacking at it - how very sad - all I can say is that has to be bad fung sha (spell).

This is why i am a vegetarian. I could barely get past the first few pics without getting a horrible feeling in my stomach. Was it really alive???? That makes it even worse...

The same thing happens to animals such as cows in this country. I watched a video where they put a hook through the ankle of a cow and pulled it up into the air the cow was in such obvious pain as it was pulled around the corner to be slaughtered. I don't see anything wrong with eating meat, just make sure the animal doesn't suffer. I know in some cultures, the animal must have its throat slit and die slowly as part of their belief. McDonalds is working for a more human slaughter house in the U.S., and I applaud them for their efforts. They are the first mass buyer of animal products to require humane treatment of the animals before and during slaughter.

Those pictures are really hard to stomach but we can't really igonore what is going round in other parts of the world and stick to the 'out of sight, out of mind' mantra.

When I went to China, I came across so many of these animal rights violation and I'm as helpless as I am now, sitting behind a computer. I then realised that it's important for people to see what goes on before they can truly understand the plight of these animals.

I'm sorry if those pictures offended anyone. Never was my real intention.
