Swithching from Anoles to Pinks.

MBW Sep 12, 2004 01:46 PM

Hello,
Back in June I got a small group of Perthensis from Casey Lazik. He was very helpfull in establishing and getting them sarted. Well now that I have them feeding on Anoles, they will not take pinkies. I have tried to scent them by rubbing them on the back of the anole, but they still refuse. Any help or tips would be wonderful.
Thanks
Mike W.

I have had extreme good results in the past with getting baby chondro's to eat by sticking the old sheddings of the lizards on the pinky's with a little water. It this way more lizard scent will come off, and its easy to reduce the amount of sheddings on the pinky untill it eats normal pinks. I am sure this will work for you too.
good luck.

I too have utilized the lizard skin method with great results. I've even used baby corn snake skins wrapped around pinkies when trying to feed stubborn baby kingsnakes. 95% of the time, works great. If that doesn't work, sometimes I'll resort to using a house gecko tail to scent the pinky.

Hope this helps.
