Got some new hoggies!

snakeguy88 Sep 12, 2004 04:38 PM

I went to the ETHS expo today and picked up some new hoggies. Clint of Texas Snake very graciously gave me one of his young eastern hogs and I picked up a small western (my first) from Jim Sargent.

Andy,

Jim Sargent has some great animals. I picked up 1.1 Orange Phase Eastern Hognose from Joe Lombardo that originally came from him. The colors on this pair are just unreal. I hope to breed them next year if I feel that they are ready.

How did you like that show? I was really imprressed with the vendors and selections there. It sure was crowded.

It was about the same as it always is. More womas/blackheads/piebald balls this year. Weren't as many western hogs or Pituophis. Still way too many kings/milks/corns.

Iwas hoping to see some albinos or at least hets. Really hoping Richard Evens would be there again. You must live in the Houston area to get there and back so quickly. Are you in the ETHS?

I at least was. I only had time to make it to a few meetings, but I go the expo every year and went to the IHS there last year. I now live in College Station for school.

I got a pair of his Bernalillo county westerns last year, and they've been great. I like Jim's stuff, but this year I was looking for Brooksi and his were a bit more expensive then some others.
Did you get that eastern with the nice orange towards the top of the neck? If so, I thought that was a fine looking snake. Hook' em!

snakeguy88 Sep 12, 2004 10:40 PM

Not sure if it is the same hog you are talking about, but it does have some orange up near its head. I saw the mom too and she is great looking. As for hookin' em, my whole family went to UT and I was planning on it until I kept getting told that if you want to be a vet, A&M is the only place to be.
