Hi everyone. Thanks again for helping identify these baby snakes. If you missed the original post, some eggs were found on a log destined for the fire, the family saved them and brought them home. The eggs hatched and the family emailed me for help with ID, I turned to you and was not let down. They were ID'd as Smooth Greens. There were 5 babies all together. The family kept 3 of them and gave the other 2 to me. At least one is definitely eating. I saw him chase, catch, and eat a cricket today. Crickets have been disapearing and I've been finding poop. I haven't seen the other one eat yet, but he seems very lively so I'm hoping he's eating too. I haven't named them yet since it's really hard to tell them apart. They are making their public debut this Saturday, I am doing a Reptile Display at a local nature preserve for their Fall Festival. I'm bringing 8 snakes, 2 geckos, 2 turtles, a tortoise, toad, and 2 ferrets. I know the ferrets aren't reptiles but the kids love them. Then the baby Smooth Greens will be doing another demo in a week and a half for a Cub Scout Troop. I'm sure they will be a hit! They are so gosh darn cute!
