If you could pick one colubrid with the most attitude what would it be?
In my opinion its the black racer. They don't stop biting.

I'm going with the coachwhip because they don't stop biting either and they go for the face.
My vote would have to go to my 9' female Yellowtail Cribo. A Black Racer or Coachwhip will bite repeatedly, but it's more a defensive thing than anything else. This old girl is 12 1/2 lbs of pure attitude, meanness and teeth.

I agree with the other posters, but I would like to toss in Nerodia. A big diamondback water snake will tear your up and many times will stand their ground, striking and flattening out. Most don't calm down at all either.

All good choices...But I have to go with Nerodia f. Everytime I run into one in the glades it strikes first...another would be eastern Hognose. Harmless.... but All additude!

I agree, but lets not forget Nerodia erythrogaster, they pack plenty of attitude.

Not only are P. browni one of the most attractive snakes in N. America (IMHO), they are also hilariously feisty when found in the wild. A four or five foot racer/coachwhip or a big adult putting up a fight doesn't impress me.
When a 12 inch Pima leaf-nosed snake no bigger around than your pinkie tries to fend you off, it is hilarious! It is probably a good thing the don't get any bigger!!!

I would go with the Boomslang. The attitude might not be as viscious but the venom makes up for it.
