diarrhea while shedding?

___chameleon Sep 13, 2004 09:27 AM

Hi guys is it normal for a panther cham to have diarrhea while shedding? Boris has had diarrhea for a few days now and he is shedding kinda slow (last time it took him one day so far this is the morning of the third day) he is almost done.

Diet is the same and he is still eating normal. ( 7 to 10 crix a few hornworms as treats or silkworms. Urate is normal color (no more orange or red if you rember the question I had before that I thought there was blood)
Thanks for any advise.

Is he drinking a lot more water than usual? If you are spraying him a lot to help him shed and he's drinking more it might make his stools looser. But, if he is really pooping a lot every day, it is smelly or odd colored you should have a vet check him for intestinal infection or parasites.

Hey Carlton
You seem to be very helpful. Thanks for your advise this time and in previous posts. Yes he is drinking ALOT more the last few days. I am misting him more than usually because of the shed. He is only pooping once a day it is just very loose. As far as smell it smell the same as always (only stinky if you get close to it like in a paper towel up to your nose). I am gonna give him until the end of the shed (hopefully today) and if he does not improve off to the vet we go!
Thanks man!
