Filtration for a Stock Tank ?

thomas_dixon888 Sep 13, 2004 10:16 AM

I plan to keep an alligator snapper in a Rubbermaid 300 gallon stock tank in the near future. What I want to know is should just buy a pond filter, or should i build a sump. If a sump, what pump do you recommend?

Thanks in advance,
Thomas

it's really up to you, and will depend on how you wanna set it up. You'd need a pretty big sump to keep that clean but you could do it and I'm a fan of the stainless steel pumps like the MagDrive pumps. But, you could also easily get a nice pond filter really cheap and could easily get one that isn't huge and can handle ponds up to a few gallons. Hope that helps... My opinion is a pond filter.
