Optimum Ball Python Housing

CJBianco Sep 13, 2004 10:28 AM

Okay. I've read a few posts on here and have had very helpful feedback to my newbie questions. So this is what I'm thinking:

- Max Latch Jumbo Storage Box (112QT)
- Heat Pad
- Spacers (to raise storage box above heat pad)
- Base/Shelf/Stand (to set heat pad & storage box)
- Hygrometer
- Thermometer
- Temperature Gun
- Reptile Thermostat (1 degree increments)
- Ventilation Holes
- Light Bulb Heat Source (optional)

Does this sound complete? I know I need a water dish, hide box, etc. But as far as the enclosure goes, have I got it right? I'd like to give Kahotep the dream home he deserves.

Thanks Again,
Chris

Oh, obviously! Water bowl, hide box, snake-friendly substrate, plastic plants, PVC jungle gym, etc.

I just want to make sure Kahotep is happy. Originally, my focus for housing was more on "display" than "convenience". Convenience won out. Besides, I think Kahotep would be more comfortable and less stressed in a less translucent cage. Aquariums look nice for display, but I'd rather NOT DISPLAY a healthy, happy snake than DISPLAY an unhealthy, unhappy one. Just my humble opinion.

Thanks,
Chris
