New Mali owner

lola44 Sep 13, 2004 12:19 PM

I did it!!! I got a baby mali yesterday at a reptile show. He is sooooo cute!! He was hatched out in June and is only about 4-5 inches long. What a sweet face. Ok, so I kinda feel like a new mom again, getting up early, making the kids lunches, feeding the dogs, chopping veggies for the beardie and then chopping them up even finer for the new baby uro. This morning he got dandelion greens with frozen/thawed peas, gr. beans and lima beans (chopped up of course) I also dusted them with some calcium with Vit. D3. How often should I suppliment with the calcium? I also have Rep-Cal Herptivite at home too. Just getting opinions on this from people with experience will help. Oh, and just incase anyone wants to know we've named him Angus (Gus for short). Thanks for any info/comments. L.

Congratulations! I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new baby Uro, and I feel like an expectant mother, so I completely understand where you are coming from!

The care sheet the breeder I am working with sent me says to give babies calcium supplement twice weekly and small amount of multivitamin once weekly. I use full-spectrum florescents on my Uro so I don't supplement the D3.

Congratulations on your new "child"! Keep us posted how he is doing, and we always love pictures of the new ones!
