Gecko Genetics Questions...

kevie Sep 13, 2004 03:23 PM

Are traits such as tangerine, carrot tail, baldy, hypo, and snow all line bred traits?

I know things like albinoism, patternless, and blizzard are all recessive traits, but are there any dominant, codominant, or incomplete dominant traits that have been discovered yet??

What kind of traits are strips?

Thanks in advance.

I was also wondering about jungles and circlebacks? What type of traits are these?

Are traits such as tangerine, carrot tail, baldy, hypo, and snow all line bred traits? Yup all polygenic (more than one gene pair controlling outcome).

I know things like albinoism, patternless, and blizzard are all recessive traits, but are there any dominant, codominant, or incomplete dominant traits that have been discovered yet?? Some lines of jungle are dominant or recessive. As far as i know there aren't any co-dom morphs in herpetoculture.

What kind of traits are strips? Stripes are line bred.
Jungles and Circlebacks? For jungles see above. and I have no idea about circlebacks.
