Just wanted to share some pics of a beautiful male C. collaris and his cagemate.

I am going to separate them though because the male is not eating very well, I think because the female is bigger.

I've been busy with a Green Anole. The C. Collaris I had last time is gone though, I put him in a outdoor cage and he miraculously escaped. It was wire mesh all the way around and on top. He couldn't have burrowed either. If he's smart enough to escape that, I always say, he deserved it. But now I have two more beautiful Collareds.

But he doesn't seem to like anyone. He's shy. I gotta tell you a story about the female:
One day I go to handle her, and remembering the struggle Critter was to handle, I decided to try something different. To my surprise, this girl doesn't like to bite a lot. She doesn't seem the slightest bit scared of me either. I put my hand in front of her and she walked on. But then she kept on walking... Right up my arm! She jumped onto the edge of the side, and just sat there for a second! I put my hand in front and she walked on! I put her back in the cage... Then she walkes back up the arm and gets back on the ledge! I did this a second time and thankfully, she didn't climb my arm again. But this was very stressful for me because the cage is outside and I could never catch her if she got out.

Did you catch that guy near your home town?
Yes I did catch him at the Wichitas. (Not in the refuge.) Just outside. He was a loner way out in the middle of nowhere in a dry creek bed. Poor guy. He must have gotten lonely out there.

How close to your city have you seen them? I'm curious, since you live right there, how many nice males you have seen like yours pictured?
